As a Registered Acupuncturist and Arvigo Therapist, Barbara treats a wide variety of conditions with a special focus on women’s reproductive health, and stress-related disorders.
Her own experience dealing with endometriosis and digestive issues eventually led her on the path to studying Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. Barbara always knew she would focus on Women’s Health and this area of care in particular. After completing her studies at the Toronto School of Traditional Chinese Medicine, she has continued to seek out specialized training in women’s health and the wisdom of traditional healing methods. She completed a post-graduate internship at the Canadian Gynecology Institute of Chinese Medicine, and regularly upgrades her knowledge with conferences and seminars globally.
Barbara has a gentle needling approach, and has been trained in a range of acupuncture methods and styles. Alongside Acupuncture, a treatment may also include cupping, moxabustion, gua sha, tui na massage or nutritional advice according to the healing traditions of Chinese Medicine. She is a member of the CTCMPAO.
Barbara is honoured to be the first Registered Acupuncturist in Ontario to offer the Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy® to her patients. Arvigo Therapy® is an external, non-invasive massage therapy that gently stimulates circulation and blood flow within the abdominal area. Both Acupuncture and Arvigo Therapy incorporate the body’s innate ability to self-regulate, heal and regenerate, and together they work especially well for many reproductive and digestive concerns.
Outside of the clinic, Barbara loves to cook and finds joy in discovering the best city hikes in Toronto’s parks and ravines.
