Dr. Kaylee Alton, ND, is a licensed naturopathic doctor. She graduated from the University of Toronto with honours in Physical Health & Education and went on to complete 2 years as a research assistant in neuroscience for stem cell development for the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto. Before she could accept her full scholarship for a PhD in physiology at Penn State, she was introduced to Naturopathic Medicine and was hooked by the philosophy that naturopathic medicine promotes, “getting your body to work for you”. She then completed her degree from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine and has completed internships all over the world, in Germany, Haiti, Italy and different clinics within South-Eastern Ontario, including Women’s College Hospital, with a focus on collaborative care with physicians and specialists, sharing charts and patient care, that includes naturopathic approaches.
Her main areas of focus are anti-aging, skin health, endocrine health or diabetes, insomnia (onset, maintenance and narcolepsy), hypertension, stress management, hormone health, PCOS, cardiology, neurology, the gut-brain connection, anxiety, depression (both mild & major), addictions and sport medicine including improving athletic performance, pain management improving recovery times and maintenance in the off-season. It is Dr. Alton’s goal to help patients in a health crisis, understand what is happening with their body and how to support their current medication and treatment plans, or how to use natural therapies alone for help. She believes everyone should have a naturopathic doctor and a family doctor.
Dr. Alton is a member of the College of Naturopathic Doctors of Ontario. Outside of practice she enjoys time with her large community in downtown Toronto, good quality design from print to product to interiors and fashion. She loves cooking and bringing people together over meals, and if given the chance, would be in a canoe on the great lakes in a heartbeat. She works Fridays 9am-7pm at the Darou Wellness Clinic.
