Dr. Stefanie Trowell, ND is a licensed and registered Naturopathic Doctor practicing in Toronto, Ontario. After graduating from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, she achieved acceptance into the competitive Clinical Residency program, which placed Dr. Trowell in the heart of evidence-based medicine and research. Her research into adjunctive breast cancer care was selected for presentation at the 2015 CAND – Health Fusion Conference in Calgary, Alberta. Dr. Trowell has been able to continue her work at the College by lecturing on “Clinical Pathologies of the Breast” and supervising interns in the teaching clinic, primarily on the adjunctive cancer care shift.
As a Naturopathic Doctor, Dr. Trowell loves to incorporate traditional methods with the best available research to enhance each patient’s health and deliver the highest quality of care. She is passionate about optimizing health and managing chronic disease, with a special interest in fertility and cancer care, especially breast cancer. Since these two conditions have touched the lives of loved ones, Dr. Trowell has a very personal understanding of the challenges and struggles involved. Her individualized approach addresses the specific needs of her patients as she works closely with them to achieve their health goals.
Prior to moving to Toronto, Dr. Trowell graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a High Honours Bachelors of Science in Physiology, where she was involved with innovative research in neuroscience, endocrinology and reproduction. She also received highest academic achievement in Physiology from St.Thomas Moore College, University of Saskatchewan. Dr. Trowell now focuses her methodical, problem-solving skills on the complexity of hormonal health in women – a key component in managing women’s health, fertility and breast cancer. She is a dedicated and caring doctor who is committed to the wellbeing of her patients.
Outside the office, you are likely to find Dr. Trowell walking outdoors with a book tucked under her arm and paint splashes on her fingers. She loves tinkering in her potted garden and completing crafts with repurposed items – an homage to her country girl roots! Dr. Trowell’s light-hearted and compassionate nature helps her relate to patients and inspire them to create a more balanced, healthy lifestyle.
