My name is Nicole and I’m the new Registered Massage Therapist at Darou Wellness! For those who don’t know me I’d like to take this opportunity to introduce my practice and describe what you can expect from my treatments.
Massage therapy aims to improve the health of soft tissues with manual manipulation, though each massage therapist over time develops their own strategies for treating. What makes my practice special is that I combine a blend of massage techniques with a set of stainless steel instruments called Graston Technique® to help improve treatment outcomes.
What is Graston Technique®?
This technique is non-invasive and allows me to isolate and treat tissue restrictions and scar tissue, as well as reduce pain and restore range of motion using light or deep pressure. Some of the conditions that I have found Graston Technique® to be effective for are cesarean scars, mastectomy scars, athletic injuries, as well as many other surgical scars that can restrict motion and cause discomfort and/or pain. This technique is not for everyone, so I always will always give my clients the option of its use during their treatments. For more information about this technique, visit http://www.grastontechnique.com/home.
People are often shocked to hear all the things massage therapy is capable of. For example, in addition to treating your sore muscles, I also provide massages for jaw pain (temporomandibular joint dysfunctions), pregnancy discomforts, infants/children, and athletic injuries.
Self-care and Prevention
For those who have already been treated by me, you know that I am a huge fan of self care and prevention. Massage is a great way to help manage your symptoms, but I also want to help you to manage your symptoms in between appointments so we can efficiently achieve your goals with longer relief. Postural awareness, stretching, and strengthening exercises are an important part of your care, and I always make sure to send you home with exercises to help manage your symptoms.
If you have any questions, I’d be happy to tell you more. Feel free to have a look at my website www.nicolemcmurrayrmt.com, send me an email at email@example.com, or catch me at Darou Wellness during my treatment hours. I am available for appointments on Mondays and Wednesdays from 1-8pm. To book your first session online, please visit https://darouwellness.janeapp.com/.
I look forward to helping you on your way to better health!
