Floatation therapy, also known as floating, floatation, sensory deprivation, or R.E.S.T (Restricted Environmental Stimulation Therapy) involves lying in a salt-water solution in a spacious tank. It is one of the most effective means of stress relief and relaxation available. Now widely accepted as a legitimate therapy, floatation is also used to treat a wide range of ailments and conditions and has been proven to lower cortisol levels (the stress hormone). The term sensory deprivation is often used as the environment is designed to limit sensory input and allow your body to fully relax:
During your float, the outside world is gone and amazing things happen. It turns out that when you’re not fighting gravity or receiving sensory input, your body has a lot of extra resources at its disposal. Your mind is free to navigate without distraction, your brain pumps out dopamine and endorphins, and the parasympathetic nervous system gets to work helping you rest, de-stress and heal. It’s likely to be the most relaxing thing you’ve ever experienced.
Float Toronto is located at 1159 Queen Street West, just east of Dufferin.
THE HEALTHY BUTCHER
OUR MISSION STATEMENT:To ensure your food is produced the way nature intended.
Organic food is not a novelty… it was the past and will be the future. Eating fruits, vegetables, grains, or meats grown with pesticides, herbicides, growth hormones, antibiotics, and other un-natural chemicals is ludicrous and unsustainable.
Do you remember the days when you could walk into your local butcher shop to buy fresh meat grown locally by a farmer who cared about his animals? When the cows would graze in large pastures? When the chickens had access to both indoors & outdoors and had time to sleep? And when growth was determined by the animals eating habits, not growth hormones and anti-biotics. For most of us, unfortunately, the answer is no. Industrialization over the last few decades has brought us to this day of antibiotic stuffed, water injected, assembly-line cut, pre-packaged meat. The Healthy Butcher aims to restore an area of the food industry that has wrongly disappeared. We are your good ‘ole fashion butcher.
